in 1961 by Peter J. Matheu of San Jose, California, this 300SL was
driven regularly for the next fourteen years, including at his own
wedding. After enjoying the car for some time, he decided to park
it in his garage, where it remained undisturbed until 2005. Thomas
Taffet of Chatsworth, California, became the 2nd owner, and upon
taking delivery, he sent the car to Rudi and Company, to begin its
show quality restoration. Upon completion and prior to selling to
the current owner, the car was sent to the Mercedes Classic Center
in Irvine, California to be inspected and documented.This disc
brake 300SL has just 621 miles since the restoration was completed,
and the condition of car is simply exceptional. Included in the
sale, is a binder of the history and owner correspondence, Mercedes
Classic Center inspection report, factory tool roll, a
