HISTORY
A further upgrade took place in May 1952, accompanied by new
suffixes for the name. TheMercedes-Benz 170 VbandMercedes-Benz
170 Dbnow featured new single piece bumpers. The rear track was
widened by a further 18mm (0.71in). The two rows of vertical
ventilation slats that had till now adorned the sides of the
bonnet/hood were replaced by a pair of horizontal slats on each
side. The windscreen wipers which had hitherto been attached at the
top of the windscreen frame were now attached at the bottom, the
screen itself also having been slightly, if imperceptibly,
enlarged. SOURCE: WIKIPEDIA
SPECIFICS / BUILD INFORMATION
This rare and fully restored 1952 Mercedes-Benz 170VA represents
the last production year of the Mercedes four-cylinder automobiles.
The 170V series began with the design and production of a 36HP
engine, chassis and body in 1936. During the almost 3 decades of
production on the 170V the chases, body and engine underwent
further development, however a visual comparison of the 1936 and
the 1952 sedans remain similar. The four cylinder engine was
gradually increased for 36-52HP and the interior and body
components of the sedans we upgraded with minor variations. The
170VA version was introduced in 1950. The last year of the
production of the 170va was 1952. The 3,692 cars manufactured we
sold for a price of 7,400DM. The excellent driving qualities of
this automobile can be called unique for a car of its power and
weight class.
