Vehicle Description
Worldwide Vintage Autos is pleased to present this 1969
Mercedes-Benz Unimog.
HISTORY
TheUnimog 406is a vehicle of theUnimog-series byMercedes-Benz.
It was produced 37'069times from 1963 to 1989 by theDaimler-Benz
AGin the Unimog plant in Gaggenau. The 406 was the first medium
duty Unimog, having a larger wheelbase of 2380 mm and more than
twice the engine power of theUnimog 401. Unlike the initial
Unimog, the 406 does not have a car engine but a high capacity
truck engine instead.Since it was the first medium duty Unimog
featuring an all-new appearance, several other Unimogs are based
either on the technical or optical design of the 406.
Twelvedifferent types of the 406 were made, available with a
closed two-door or four-door cab, asCabrioand as a conveyance
motor (a ?half? Unimog lacking the rear part, as a basis for third
party vehicle manufacturers). During its long production period,
the 406 received several technical refinements. In 1964,
theprecombustion chamberdiesel engine OM 312 was replaced with
the direct injectedOM 352. Disc brakes followed in 1973.For many
enthusiasts, the Unimog 406 represents the classical Unimog, having
agricultural and silvicultural applications. Also, the 406 was used
as a basis for road-rail-vehicles, the rated towing capacity is up
to 300 t. SOURCE: WIKIPEDIA

The cost of parts and restoration of these vehicles are increasing
daily. They are not making any more and, therefore, they are
becoming more rare by the day. Buy one complete and ensure your
investment for the future. An excellent investment and something
you can enjoy daily. Collectible vintage vehicles have historically
appreciated at a rate greater than that stock market, gold and
other arts and collectibles as documented by many articles and
auction result tracking.
