Vehicle Description
This all-steel Plymouth 5-window coupe was constructed along the
theme of an old-school dirt-track racer. It is completely street
legal with a full set of Stewart-Warner domed lens gauges,
including a tachometer. It also has functioning turn signals and
electric wipers. Features include all-new glass with swing out
windshield and suicide doors with manual safety locks. Many
hand-crafted one-off features were incorporated into the
construction, such as custom bumperettes and nerf bars. A custom
chassis features a drilled I-beam front axle with leaf spring, Vega
manual steering box and 9" Ford rear end mounted with adjustable
coilovers. It is powered by a 331ci Chrysler HEMI engine backed by
a 4-speed 700R4 automatic transmission with overdrive. It has a
rare Cragar 4x2 intake manifold with four large-logo Stromberg 97
carburetors, electronic ignition and custom Zoomie headers with
individually adjustable baffles. It rides on 15" old-school Radir
wheels with Firestone Deluxe Champions on the rear. Stopping is
provided by power front disc brakes and rear drums. It's also
equipped with NOS Guide 682C headlights and Pontiac taillights. The
PPG single-stage paint in Sierra Beige and Signal Brown coordinates
with the custom interior, including the trunk, all done in
old-school fashion, utilizing marine vinyl and wool carpets. All
seals and weatherstripping are new. This coupe has under 300 miles
since its 2015 completion. It has only been shown in the Pacific
Northwest.
