A rare and factory-built example, this race car was built by
Chevrolet to compete in the SCCA road-course races of the day.
Built in 1992, this 25th Anniversary Z/28 1LE is one of 705 made
with the 1LE Performance Package with performance-ratio, 3.42
limited slip and without air conditioning. This package has an LB9
305/230hp engine with 300 ft/lbs of torque and manual 5-speed
transmission. It also comes with 18-gallon baffled fuel tank, and
4-wheel disc brakes with the special heavy-duty front disc brake
package. Because fuel was left in the vehicle for 19 years, the
fuel tank was removed and cleaned. It has a new fuel pump and the
fuel filter, and all lines and injectors were cleaned and flushed.
The differential and transmission fluids were also drained and
replaced, and the radiator was flushed. The engine was also pulled,
given new valve guides and seals, honed with new rings and
bearings, the crank was polished, the assembly balanced and all-new
seals and gaskets were installed. Everything was done to factory
specifications. This car has 1,942 actual miles and is ready for
the street or track. It is also SCCA legal.
