Stunning 1923 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost Springfield Piccadilly
RoadsterCoachwork by Rolls-Royce Custom Coach WorksChassis no.
318XHEngine no. 21-143This 1923 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost
Springfield Piccadilly Roadster is an absolutely stunning example
and an a very special car just out of a collection. Rolls Royce
Custom Coachwork #583 and Chassis #318XH. Red with black interior,
it's undergone complete mechanical and cosmetic rebuild to
concourse standards. Springfield Silver Ghosts were built from 1921
to 1926. The car offered here is a 1923 which is still very much
like the British Ghosts of the same era. It is right drive,
4-speed, with a 12-volt electrical system and rides on 23-inch
wheels with 33 x 5 tires. Many enthusiasts prefer these early
Springfield cars because of their more sporty feeling and lighter
steering with the skinny tires. The car has been restored to the
highest standard by Jim Hery of Parkesburg, Pennsylvania, with
mechanical work completed by Bill Cooke of the Vintage Garage. The
restoration was so successful and the car has won many awards,
including the Best in Concours Class at the 2005 Rolls-Royce
National Meet in Greenwich, Connecticut. The Piccadilly body is one
of the most highly regarded body styles ever placed on the Ghost
chassis because of its nearly perfect body lines. There is not any
aspect of the style that could be improved. A fantastic car at a
bargain price. Price: $550,000 ?
