1947 BUICK 2 DOOR CONVERTIBLE This 1947 Buick 2 door convertible is
shown in original specifications, except color and interior,
featuring original 248ci Fireball in-line 8 cylinder engine and
column mounted 3 speed sliding shift transmission. Only 28,297
convertibles were produced by Buick in 1947, making this a very
rare roadworthy example of Buick's Harley Earl influenced design
and innovation. The exterior is easily identifiable as a Buick with
the stamped grille with upper cross bar, new bumper emblems, front
filled emblems on the hood and crossbar, stainless steel lower body
moldings, rear deck mounted emblem and rear bumper crossbar mounted
emblem. The interior features an array of chromed bezel original
copper and bake-lite face gauges, a massive original sized new faux
ivory Tenite steering wheel with bejeweled-like horn button, that
resonates a fog-horn sound. The dash mounted clock features a mock
odometer reading Buick on the face. The center displayed Wurlitzer
styled Sonomatic speaker below the radio carries the Buick styling
and identification on the 5 radio buttons. Considered to be "state
of art" hydraulic power windows remain as original. Stopping is an
ease with 12" drum brakes. The seating is massive, with front and
rear easily accommodating 3 passengers each front and rear. The
blue and ivory interior compliments the jewel blue exterior. All
glass is clear, all chrome and stainless trims glisten. $49,900.00
