The Model - Valentine's Day, 1999 was especially sweet for Pontiac fans. Pacing the legendary Daytona 500 was the 30th Anniversary edition of the Trans-Am. A special limited edition run of just 1,000 T-top coupes had been planned, and despite a hefty $31,500 price they sold out fast. Among the many special appointments were 30th Anniversary badges on the front doors, the front fascia and on the dashboard a special numbered badge. All of these hot cars were equipped with the WS6 handling package and powered by the 320 HP LS1 5.7L engine, the same V8 used in the Corvette. Special high-back, white leather bucket seats carried the Anniversary logo, and owners could opt to have the doors emblazoned with the official pace car decals. Eye-catching were the blue-tint five-spoke chrome wheels that really set off the Arctic White finish combined with the blue-stripes, the same scheme that the original Trans-Am's had worn 30 years before. Air-conditioning was standard as was a Delco AM-FM-CD entertainment unit. Also, full instrumentation was included with easy to read gauges. Showing that the designers of this car were expecting good things, the coupes received a special "trophy mat", also emblazoned with the spread-wing anniversary logo.

The Car - As with all of the 30th Anniversary Trans-Am, this beautiful example is finished in Arctic White with dual blue stripes. This example carries the Daytona 500 official pace-car graphics on both front doors. While this car has been driven, it has been cared for and maintained having seen inside storage all of its life. There have been a couple of performance upgrades carried out of the already powerful LS1 V8, such as the addition of a Wilson "Fast-Flo" LS intake manifold coupled to a Volant twin-induction cold air set-up. Aside from the engine the rest of this powerful super-car appears just as it did when new including those striking blue-chrome plate 5-spoke wheels. Looking inside this car, the pure-white leather covered bucket seats look like they are brand-spanking new while it retains the factory installed Delco AM-FM-CD player, and yes it still has its special limited edition and number 30th Anniversary plaque on the center console. In doing our research we found that there had only been one major recall on this car, to correct the spread-eagle logo used on the rear panel. Rest assured, this car is fitted with the "filled-wing" version of this awesome logo, which represents an equally awesome car.
