Gateway Classic Cars is excited to have a 1965 Comet Caliente.
Finished in Race Red with Black vinyl interior this car is all
business. The fresh 302 and 5 speed transmission make this car come
to life with plenty of performance. Cragar SS wheels complete the
clean look on the outside. The hood has been replaced with a
fiberglass Cyclone replica. The twin snorkels give the car an
aggressive look. The interior maintains the clean look with new
headliner and carpets, newer aftermarket seats and new headliner.
The Moon Eyes Tachometer on the dash does add a little race car
flair. There is an aftermarket stereo in the glove box complete
with a trunk mounted amplifier. The car looks like your classic 60s
straight line hot rod. It has a clean "Means Business" look of a
car built for one thing. To go from one place to another as quickly
as possible. Equipped with power rack and pinion steering and disc
brakes and a tilt column she is a very comfortable ride. The gas
tank, fuel pump carburetor and the front shocks have all been
recently replaced to improve drivability. These early Comets are
classic examples of how Detroit changed the personality of a car in
the 60s simply by changing drivetrains. Your everyday grocery
getter was an engine swap away from being a quarter mile beast. To
