1966 VOLVO 1800S
The Volvo P1800 is a two-passenger, front-engine, rear-drive sports car manufactured and marketed by Volvo Cars as a coupe (1961–73) and shooting-brake(1972–73).
While the P1800 was more of a stylish touring car rather than a sports car when it came to its speed capabilities, the P1800 first became popular when it was featured as the main car driven by Roger Moore in the hit television series The Saint which aired from 1962-1969. The P1800 featured styling by Pietro Frua and mechanicals derived from Volvo's Amazon/122 series.
The car was marketed as the Volvo P1800, 1800S, 1800E and 1800ES.
In 1998, an 1800S was certified as the highest mileage private vehicle driven by the original owner in non-commercial service — having exceeded three million miles (over 4.8 million km) as of 2013.
This 1800S has spent most of its time in California and Utah. It is a very solid car with original doors and a very good undercarriage. The photos will show a very nice original looking underside. The body is straight and showing no signs of accident damage. The car was painted back in the early 80s with some touch up along the way. The body is dent free with nice gloss to the paint. The chrome is original and in good condition showing normal age. The side and rear glass are in very good condition. The windshield has 3 stone chips and a small crack in the lower left corner. The light lenses are in good condition. The wheels have a fresh coat of silver paint, very nice trim rings/hub caps and new tires. The interior is in very good to excellent condition. No tears, holes or bad seams. The drivetrain(including the overdrive unit) performs as it should with recent normal maintenance. The engine/engine compartment are clean and correct. Brakes work well with no pulling. The electrical system and gauges work very well (temp gauge and clock do not work).
This Volvo is a very honest car. It’s a great car to drive and enjoy. Or it would be a perfect car to take to the next level.
