Odometer The amount of craftsmanship and detail built into this
1962 Corvette Resto Mod is second to none. An original 1962
Corvette Body was given 3 coats of primer, a sealer, 3 coats of
Glasurit Salsa Red paint and 4 coats of BASF clear. A custom grill
using 10 teeth from a 57 & a 58 Corvette was fabricated. Several
subtle body modifications were made such as frenched headlights,
custom gas filler door, a ZR1 polycarbonate hood insert and several
other body modifications that will be highlighted in the pictures.
The Flame Red Leather interior also has many custom touches. First
3M sound and heat insulation was applied to the interior floor,
foot wells, inside the doors and trunk. The dash cluster was
reworked with Auto meter white faced gauges, a custom 4 speaker
sound system was installed. A Flaming River tilt column, along with
a Flaming River D-shaped steering wheel was utilized. A Shift-Works
shifter, fitted with a custom boot, bezel and KUGEL linkage allows
the driver to smoothly select the gear of the 4 speed automatic
transmission. A Vintage Air Generation IV air conditioning/heater
system was installed which includes 4 interior vents. Power is
generated by a LS3 crate engine with a custom polished MAF air
intake and a Spectre air filter element. A MSD starter brings the
LS3 to life. A Mattson dual pass aluminum radiator utilizing Evans
NPG waterless non-corrosive coolant �and a Spal electric fan keeps
the engine running cool. A 2300RPM stall converter with an
interface to the engine and transmission computers was used. A GM
fly-by wire accelerator system communicates the driver's pedal
position to the engine. A custom fiberglass engine cover completes
the engine compartment. The transmission is a 4L65E 4 speed
automatic and the rear end is a custom 9 inch with 3.50 gears,
stainless steal �axles and posi-traction. The original
frame/chassis has been replaced with a Morrison GT Sport chassis
which uses C6 upper and lower A-arms and hubs. A DSE rack and
pinion steering with a 20 to 1 ratio and power assist gives the
corvette excellent steering response. adjustable coilovers and a
triangular 4 bar rear suspension help give this resto mod superior
handling characteristics.� Corvette 13 inch front disc brakes and
SVO 12 inch rear disc brakes along with a Classic Performance 1
inch bore master cylinder and stainless steel brake lines provide
