Vehicle Description
This car is one of the rarest in the country and is a real
"survivor" in the truest sense of the word. Very few of the 2,994
produced still exist and the unusual Cinnamon Bronze and Frost
White color combination may be the only one in existence. It is a
"numbers matching" car, nearly all original with only 44,670 miles
and comes with the original owner's manual. The dash, garnish
moldings and steering wheel are also in Cinnamon Bronze. The seats,
headliner, door panels are upholstered in coordinating lavender and
white, cloth and vinyl materials. It is believed that these are
original to the car but the carpeting has been replaced with white,
cut pile, not original to the car.
The original in-line six cylinder 196 cid, OHV engine and the
manual 3-speed transmission provide plenty of "get up and go" and
easily cruise at 65mph for hours at a time. The engine, accessories
and engine bay are in remarkable original condition and the trunk
compartment is immaculate. The "stick shift" lever is quite
unusual: instead of traditional mounting on the steering column, as
with other cars, it is located on the dash next to the steering
wheel, in a ball joint configuration!
This is virtually a rust free car with only minor paint chips and
scratches, expected in a car of its' age. All chrome, stainless
moldings, emblems, bezels and mirrors are original to the car, with
no dents or dings, with exception of one small dent in the right
door molding. It has a working AM dial radio, but the antenna needs
mounting. The heater/defrost are in good working order, as are all
gauges, lights wipers. This car placed Second for 1950-1961 Stock
Vehicles at a show sponsored by Adirondack Car Enthusiasts, in
August of 2015 and was a "FAVORITE 40" in the June 2015 ACE annual
car show, Glens Falls, NY.
