reading. The 1968 Mustang for many enthusiasts is a favorite.
Styling and performance had evolved since 1965. This Mustang is an
original 6-cylinder car with manual floor shift. It was owned by
the same family for 36 years from 1980 to 2016. It was left
original until it was passed down to the youngest son. When he
acquired the car, he removed the original engine, transmission and
rear. He removed the interior and striped and painted the car in
its current color Mazda Purple. At this point the project came to a
halt. This is when the current owner purchased the vehicle. The
build began with a 428 Cobra Jet FE engine with the C casting on
the back of the block. Production date was March 5th, 1969. It
still retains its original bore. Ross Racing Pistons, Arp Hardware,
Competition Cams Roller Rockers and camshaft and Edelbrock Aluminum
Heads make up the internals. We are not done yet though. A Holley
850 Double Pumper Carb, Aluminum Intake manifold, MSD ignition,
Ceramic Headers, Flowmaster 2.5 inch aluminized exhaust are just
some of the modifications. Power meets the pavement with a
Centerforce 11 inch clutch a Tremac transmission and a Strange 9"
rear with Strange guts and axels. The front brakes are factory Ford
4 piston disc, the rear are drum. It has a Wilwood master cylinder
with proportioning valve. The electrical system has been upgraded
as well with the installation of a Painless Wiring system. All of
the original wiring was removed from the car. All the gauges work
as well as the interior and exterior lighting. It has a set of
original Eleanor wheels wrapped in new BF Goodrich radials. The
suspension has all new bushings, shocks, sway bars and big block
springs. It has power steering a Powermaster Starter and
Alternator. The battery has been relocated to the trunk and the car
has a kill switch. The fuel tank has been sumped and there is a new
fuel pump. The interior seats are original to the car, they show
minor wear but are in great shape. The rear seat is folding. The
carpet, dash pad, dash trim, door panels, door handles, window
cranks and just about everything else in the interior is new. The
stereo was installed with front and rear panel speakers. The
exterior is highlighted by new bumpers, new taillight trim, new
headlights, and a new Billet Grille. The hood scoop is 1970 Mach 1.
Eleanor inspired side scoops and trunk lid with extensions complete
the look of this Magnificent Mustang. To view this 1968 Ford
