Vehicle Description
In the fall of 2015, a complete restoration began on this custom
Fastback. Recently completed in spring of 2017, the car was
completely disassembled and a number of brand-new parts were
installed, including a 351/450hp Cleveland engine with new
drivetrain, automatic transmission and OMG shifter, custom headers,
computerized MSG fuel-injection system, stainless gas tank,
windshield, custom exhaust, custom radiator and fans, serpentine
belt system, wiring harness, custom interior, modern Bluetooth
stereo with amp, speakers and subwoofer, electric windows, power
locks, center console with cup holders, steering wheel, complete
brake job, engine compartment valves and hoses, Vintage Air, rear
wing, dash and gauges, and newly upholstered bucket seats and
carpet. Prior to this recent restoration, the car went through a
full-body restoration that was completed in April 1987, consisting
of front suspension with KONI shocks, rear suspension with master
traction bars, custom paint and graphics, and one-piece front
valance and chin spoiler. The car has been lowered 1 inch. All of
the factory seams were removed and the car spent nine months in the
paint shop, where every one of the 24 coats of primer, base coat,
colors and clear coats were block-sanded. The custom paint blend
consists of Ditzler Calypso Coral as the base, with Star Pearl
Candies of Heather, Wild Rose and Silver Metallic over a white
base. The engine compartment is finished in Centari Black enamel.
With chrome detail throughout, the entire undercarriage was
stripped and repainted. The rear end and springs have been
powder-coated with pinstripes. After the completion of the 1987
restoration, the car went on to win a number of awards (awards do
not go with the car).
