1965 Chevrolet Corvette Resto-Mod The second generation of
"America's Sports Car" was even more of a bombshell than the first.
Dubbed "Sting Ray" for its distinctive styling, this new Corvette
was completely new apart from its engine and front suspension.
Utilizing a new ladder-type chassis frame and stronger body support
structure, this would be the first U.S. production car to utilize
an independent rear suspension. Unlike the first generation, the
Sting Ray could be had in both coupe and convertible body styles,
and this proved to be a big hit with the public. Over the course of
the Sting Ray's production from 1963 to 1967, styling remained
largely the same albeit for some subtle changes. Four-wheel disc
brakes and a big-block engine became available in 1965, and with a
long list of options and colors, enthusiasts could mix and match to
their hearts' desires. This Resto-Mod Corvette is a combination of
original and modern components that set it apart including the
stunning Candy Brandy Wine paint. The Corvette was originally
presented in Milano Maroon. �Its interior is richly shown with
white bucket seats, headliner and door panels, plus black dash and
carpet. A white stinger on a 1967 big-block hood is also unique to
the presentation of this Corvette. The power is derived from a
Motown 427-cid�small-block V-8 engine that puts out a very
impressive 554-hp and 528-ft/lbs of torque. This powerful unit
features aluminum heads, high-rise intake, custom aluminum headers
and MSD ignition, and it is attached to a Tremec TKO five-speed
manual transmission. Custom American Racing wheels and factory
style side pipes are just a glimpse of the blending the best of
modern and original with this exciting Corvette. This Resto-Mod
Corvette blends the best of classic looks and modern performance.
