""This is a list of some of the important things that were done during the building and extensive restoration that took on and off 15yrs for my son and I to complete. The result is a '48 Chevy that drives, handles and rides more like a late model car than a '48 Chevy. Try it out, you will be impressed.
The grill is from a 1946 Chevrolet. The hood, door handles and trunk levers were removed for a smooth look. Doors have electric locks as does the trunk. They are operated by a key remote that also controls the electric windows. An emergency cable release for doors and trunk is also built in. Trunk has custom upholstery to match interior with it's own light and cigarette lighter type socket for electronic accessories.
The entire floor, firewall, doors etc. has Dynamat insulation and sound supressing material. The new interior has insulation under the new headliner. The front seats are new 2004 Tahoe. Rear seat is original and was rebuilt as part of the custom interior with light gray fabric. There are custom interior lights. New custom dashboard with guages and tachometer, with AC controls & four custom AC outlets. The radio is an AM/FM/CB plus a remote 12 disc changer under the driver's seat with a 400Watt 4 channel amplifier under the passenger's seat. The power antenna rises when the radio is turned on except when the CD changer is being played. There is a GM tilt steering column with a custom banjo style leather steering wheel. There is a GM style turn signal lever that operates the cruise control.
Chassis has 78 Camaro front clip expertly welded on to the original chassis which was completely rebuilt with new brake rotors, calipers, brake lines etc. Tubular A frames, bushings, custom front and rear sway bars, new shocks etc. Of course, power steering, power brakes, custom recesses brake booster.
Engine was built on a 1975 Corvette High Performance 4bolt main block which was bored .30 thousandths over to create a 355 cu.in.
All new internal parts and balanced carburetor is AFB-650-CFM.
Transmission is GM-700R-4 overdrive transmission with shift kit and Lokar shifter. Custom HD drive shaft goes to all new 9 inch Ford posi traction rear with 3:50 gear ratio. Caltracs traction bars keep the new rear springs straight.
Tires all brand new. Cooper 295/50 Rear tires, Front tires 205/70 with alignment don early August 2017. American Racing chrome wheels.
Optima battery new on 8/11/17, old batters did not fail but was 6 1/2yrs old so I replaced it. External battery terminals are in back of right rear wheel for easy access. Custom made stainless steel 26 gallon gas tank. Back up lights work when reverse.""
