Vehicle Description
What a cool car! Very stylish, sporty car loaded with features.
This was Studebaker's halo car. Very limited production, only built
half of one year. 2,215 built total. This is one of 462 made in
California. They came with their top of the line performance- a V-8
with 4 barrel carb and dual exhaust. The exterior is low and
streamlined. Keeping up with American demand for excessive chrome,
they loaded this car with trim. Up front was a huge grill with
incorporated fog lamps, full length hood spear and fender spears.
Wide side moldings and even a stainless strip over the roof. A set
of wire basket hubcaps and wide whitewalls finish it off. Inside is
just as cool. It features a diamond stitched, genuine leather
upholstery. The instrument panel is machine turned and features
Stewart Warner gauges including tachometer. The car looks show
quality. Starting up front I'm looking at the chrome and it's
gleaming like a mirror, actually the paint is like a mirror too.
The moldings are straight and polished. The hubcaps sparkle the
white walls couldn't be any whiter. Even the white paint on the
sides are glass finish, I can see the reflection of the ground like
a mirror. Trunk is beautifully painted, has a new spare on a
painted rim, jack and a new plaid liner. Interior is beautiful.
Genuine soft leather upholstery. Door panels and headliner are
excellent. Unique power windows and power seat, you will rarely
find in an old Studebaker. Motor compartment is restored. We got
this car from a collector, the last car we bought from him was a
Duesenberg. I think this is a significant collector car that is
very pleasing to look at!
