Death Row Records' 1996 BMW Tupac Shakur was shot in...
1996 BMW 750iL - The Death Row Records Vehicle Tupac Shakur Was
Shot In
This is the actual 1996 BMW 750iL that Tupac Shakur was riding in
on the night of September 7, 1996. The car was leased by Death Row
Records and driven that night by Marion Suge Knight. Few objects in
American music history carry this weight, and none of them have
ever been available to own.
The shooting occurred at approximately 11:15 p.m. Pacific, shortly
after Shakur and Knight left the Mike Tyson-Bruce Seldon fight at
the MGM Grand. Stopped at the light at East Flamingo Road and Koval
Lane, the BMW was fired on from an adjacent vehicle. Shakur was
struck four times by .40-caliber rounds and died six days later at
University Medical Center. He was 25.
Provenance and documentation. Celebrity Cars Las Vegas has held
this vehicle in continuous, documented custody and is the only
party authorized to sell it. Its identity has been independently
examined on the record - the car and its history were the subject
of a Pawn Stars segment on History Channel, in which outside
appraisers reviewed period photographs of the original bullet
damage against the vehicle itself. The new owner receives complete
documentation of the ownership chain and the car's connection to
the night of September 7, 1996.
The most compelling evidence is on the car itself. The interior
door panel and liner have been carefully pulled back to expose
original weld marks in the exact locations where rounds penetrated
the car - physical, verifiable corroboration that this is the
vehicle.
Condition. The car has undergone a comprehensive restoration
returning it to its pre-September 1996 condition, including a fresh
coat of paint. The wheels are correct to the style fitted on the
night of the shooting. A small exterior indentation remains,
believed to correspond to one of the impact points, though it is
subtle and difficult to distinguish. Reference photographs of the
original damage are included for historical context. The V12 runs
exceptionally well and the car presents in excellent overall
condition throughout.
Viewing and purchase terms. The BMW is on display in the Celebrity
Cars Las Vegas showroom, minutes from the intersection where the
shooting took place.
A $20,000 refundable deposit and a signed confidentiality agreement
are required prior to the submission of any offer.
