Vehicle Description
1962 saw the introduction of the Bentley S3 factory bodied standard
steel saloon that became the last Bentley to be built upon a
separate chassis. The S3 now came with twin headlamps, smaller
bumper over-riders and the re-positioning of the front indicators
and side lamps into one single unit on the front wings, resulting
in an arguably more attractive look. This handsome Bentley is
presented in silver grey over dark green coachwork and is in highly
presentable order and complemented by the gleaming chromework.
Looking inside, the interior has an inviting feel to it; the grey
leather is in extremely good order and lambswool over-rugs cover
recently replaced carpeting. The headlining is new and the
wood-work is of a very good original finish with the further
benefit of the optional electric windows. Used regularly, the car
operates smoothly and has been well cared for in recent years. This
is backed up by the history file which also contains interesting
early documents such as the period Jack Barclay maintenance record,
stamped in the 1960's and their stock list brochure dated 1967. The
green logbook also verifies the change of owner in 1967 and then
again in 1973 to a gentleman who was to keep it for the following
35 years, including a full engine re-build. Since the current owner
took the helm, a steady process of sympathetic mechanical
restoration has taken place including a full brake rebuild, a full
transmission rebuild, new tyres with supporting specialist invoices
indicating this maintenance for the benefit of the vehicle in the
longer term.Offered with a UK V5C registration document and an MoT
test certificate valid until August 2018, this extremely handsome
Bentley has a solid history and, with some final cosmetic work to
the body, offers entry into high quality Bentley ownership. For
