Vehicle Description
The Smart Roadster and Roadster Coup were introduced in 2003,
based on a stretched platform of the Fortwo. The two variants are
meant to be reminiscent of the British roadsters such as the
Triumph Spitfire or the MG B. The Roadster is powered by versions
of the turbocharged 698cc 3-cylinder Suprex engine in the rear,
which is engineered by Mercedes-Benz. Weighing as little as 790 kg
the Roadster is meant to provide the emotion of driving a sports
car at an affordable cost; still, its price is not very far from
that of a Mazda MX-5. Both the Roadster and Roadster Coup are
available in Brabus-tuned versions with power increased to 101 bhp.
The Brabus versions have a different twin sports exhaust, lower
suspension, polished six-spoke aluminium alloy Monoblock VI 17"
wheels, front spoiler, side skirts and radiator grille. The Brabus
version also features stronger clamping of the clutch plates and a
faster gear change. Top Gear praised the Roadster, awarding it Fun
Car Of The Year for 2005. On offer today is this fabulous Smart
Brabus Roadster reading just 53,000 miles and supplied with the
original order form and all dealer booklets from new. It is powered
by a 101 bhp petrol, 3-cylinder turbo engine with charge cooling
mated to a soft-tip, automated, sequential 6-speed transmission.
The original list of selected Brabus specification options is
extensive but some of the highlights are air conditioning, Brabus
sports seats, ESP and convertible roof with partial electric
operation. The car comes supplied with a comprehensive stamped
service history, showing nine stamps in the book and an MoT test
certificate valid until August 2018. This is a fabulous, addictive
and fun little car that will surprise many at the traffic lights!
