Vehicle Description
The Land Rover Defender was launched in 1948 and, incredibly,
production only finished in January 2016 after a continuous run of
67 years. Outwardly, there is little to distinguish the post-1983
vehicles from the Series III Land Rover. Internally, coil springs
offered a more comfortable ride and a permanent four-wheel drive
system derived from the Range Rover featuring a two-speed transfer
gearbox with a lockable centre differential. A modernised interior
and a new series of progressively more powerful and modern engine
characterised things under the skin. The Defender was fitted with
an all-new 2.5-litre, five-cylinder in-line turbo/diesel engine,
badged the Td5. This fabulous Land Rover Defender was originally
registered on 1st March 2006 and has covered a mere 11,700 miles.
The specification of this iconic vehicle is superb, having been
fitted with a 5.0 litre V8 engine mated to an automatic gearbox. A
bespoke exhaust system was made for the vehicle and not only does
this Land Rover drive superbly, she sounds fantastic. Finished in
silver with black leather trim and benefitting from heated seats,
electric windows, air conditioning and an electric winch, this 110
Defender has all the creature comforts required to ensure an
enjoyable drive. Supplied with a V5C registration document together
with a full years MoT test certificate and a history folder
confirming the low mileage, this Land Rover is outstanding and
needs to be viewed to be fully appreciated. For sale by auction on
Saturday 23 September 2017 with Historics at Brooklands, Brooklands
