Vehicle Description
Jaguar's long-standing commitment to creating beautiful,
contemporary, fast cars was reinforced once again with the
unveiling of the special edition 400bhp XJR Portfolio. The Concept
Eight was the first time that Jaguar had shown its new performance
styling to the public and the reaction was so positive that many of
its key design details, such as the eye-catching polished wheels,
side power vents and Satin American Walnut trim, were soon to grace
a special edition XJ produced for the USA and other key European
and global markets. Both front and rear seats have variable heating
and the driver's seat includes lumbar and cushion length power
adjust with full memory function. To add to that unique performance
feel, the XJR Portfolio also sports an aluminium J-gate gearlever
surround and chrome and leather gearknob. The all-aluminium
construction methods that Jaguar introduced with the latest
generation XJ saloon in 2003 broke new ground in the volume
automotive industry. Unlike other aluminium-bodied cars, the XJ
family uses full stressed-skin monocoque construction including all
the outer panels, is manufactured from aluminium. As a result, the
XJR Portfolio is around 200kg lighter than before with significant
benefits in performance, safety, economy and emissions performance.
The XJR Portfolio's immense performance capabilities stem not just
from its lightweight body but from its renowned 400bhp
supercharged, 4.2-litre V8 engine. That excellent engine is matched
by the superb six-speed ZF automatic transmission and gives an
electronically limited maximum speed of 155mph and 0-60mph in
exactly 5.0 seconds. First registered on 7th December 2006, this
fine example, currently with its fourth owner, boasts a detailed
service history which includes work carried out at Perry's Jaguar
Huddersfield at 2,868 miles in December 2007 with further servicing
at 6,153 miles in December 2008, 12,004 miles in November 2009,
20,680 miles in November 2010, 30,743 miles November 2011, 41,963
miles in November 2012, 50,871 miles October 2013, 57,766 miles in
October 2014. Further servicing was then carried out by Grange
Jaguar Swindon at 65,697 miles in January 2016 and has just been
serviced at Prestwood Bosch Service Centre at 69,001 miles in July
of this year. At the last service, the vendor confirms the brake
pads and header tank were replaced and the air conditioning was
re-gassed. Four new Pirelli P-Zero tyres were fitted at 68,062
miles with the current mileage showing 69,100 miles. The car comes
with a current MoT test certificate at 68,108 miles carried out on
2nd March 2017 with no advisories. It comes complete with an owners
book pack, a service book along with the press release pack and
original sales brochure; with a limited production run of 100 cars
for the UK, this is a fine example of a rare breed indeed and a
fast appreciating classic. For sale by auction on Saturday 23
