Vehicle Description
Here is a 1965 Corvette StingRay convertible with a fuel injected
LS1 motor and a T5 transmission. The owner went to a lot of expense
to keep this car looking original inside and out. His objective
was to have the classic look of an original C2 roadster but have a
comfortable everyday driver that had the reliability and
performance and good gas mileage of a modern Corvette. The
transformation was begun in 2009 and completed in 2012 traveling
just 13000 miles since the LS1 conversion. There was a lot of
expensive custom fabrication in keeping the original look of the
car...there is a five speed transmission but custom fabrication to
keep the shifter offset like the original Muncie....look at the
dash and you see original gauges but there is an electronic tach
conversion to function with the LS motor...original seats have
heating elements mounted in them (hidden switches under the
dash)...power door locks with hidden actuators. There is a Viper
alarm system with an interior motion sensor for the alarm when you
park with the top down. The LS1 has been fully rebuilt and dynoed
with over 300 hp reaching the rear wheels and uses Royal Purple
5w30 synthetic oil and gets 20+ miles per gallon on 87 octane
gas...2.73 rear end from a 76 Vette 80 mph is 1900 RPM in 5th
gear...clutch is hydraulic from Novak conversions...17x7 wheels
with performance 225/50ZR17 tires...new fuel tank and high pressure
FI fuel pump...vintage air...radio is an original style vertically
mounted custom Autosound with MP3 and phone connection...all new
wheel bearings...fully rebuilt front and rear suspension components
with fiberglass rear leaf spring...CFR performance aluminum cross
flow radiator...all new brake calipers and lines...new drive shaft
and axle U joints...The convertible top is new (cloth from
Stayfast). It is obvious that no shortcuts were taken in building
this car. It is a real Resto-Mod in the truest sense of the term.
There are a few blemishes in the paint (see pics) but if you're
going to use this car for its intended purpose as an everyday
driver I wouldn't do a thing to it. All gauges work including the
clock. There are dyno videos available to the new owner CALL US!!!
