This 2007 Lotus Elise is one of just 294 examples brought into the US that year. Over the years many of these cars have been modified but this one remains completely stock. Two owner car that has been used sparingly and always stored in a dry climate controlled space. This chrome orange Elise came from the factory with the touring package, electric windows, hard top and soft top, AC and Alpine AM/FM/CD sound system. Originally sold new at the Ferrari/ Lotus dealer in Denver, the first 2 years it was garaged in Rock Springs Wyoming. During that time the original owner put approximately 2300 miles on the car. He then moved to Kentucky where he put an additional 6,000 miles on over a three year period. In 2012 I purchased the car from him with 8,400 miles on the odometer. During my 5 year ownership the car has only been caught in the rain twice and has been stored in a climate controlled building with a constant temperature of 65 degrees year round. Unlike most other Elise’s this one doesn’t even show surface rust on the rotors or signs of corrosion on any of the typical suspension or engine parts. Everything still looks new and is a testament to how well preserved it is.
Under my ownership I never tracked it but have enjoyed some spirited street driving and touring the back roads of New Hampshire with our local British Car Club. Service items in the past 5 years include new Yokahama AD07 rear tires replaced several years ago with the odometer reading at around 11,500 miles. Oil and filter changes have always been Mobile 1 with the most recent oil, filter, Air filter, coolant flush, brake fluid flush and triple pass radiator replacement about 6 weeks ago. The radiator was replace because one of the original plastic end tanks started to leak slightly. This is a common Elise issue and most have had them replaced. The only other addition was the instillation of a Sector 111 fixed position seat bracket which allows my 6’1” body frame to be comfortably reclined. The seat bracket removal and original seat slider re-installation is an easily 30 minute operation. No holes or modifications to the car were made during the installation.
The Elise is essentially a track car that can be driven on the road and is a beautiful blend of a light weight highly responsive sports car built with the reliability of a Toyota drivetrain. Now going back up in value, most Elise’s have actually increased in value by about 15% to 20% in the last 4-5 years. Due to low production numbers starting in 2007 and the rareity of remaining “stock” examples I believe this car will just continue to appreciate. This has been a well cared for adult owned car that is a beautiful example of an unmolested low mileage Elise. It’s a non-smoker car with a few minor paint blemishes (see pics) and signs of use but overall exceptionally nice. It is being offered honestly without issues, ready to drive and enjoy.
