Twenty five Corvette convertibles were deemed "official cars" for the inaugural NASCAR Brickyard 400 race at the Indianapolis Speedway. In all, twelve black and thirteen red Corvettes were produced for this historic occasion. Additionally, these Corvettes were used for specific pre-race parade vehicles to transport NASCAR drivers around the track. The Legendary A.J. Foyt himself took hot laps around the track in this car.
