The 3 series is BMW's bread and butter model, it's far and away most popular seller. The 5th generation 3 series was called the E90 in the factory and is loved by everyone from journalists to conquest buyers for its intoxicating blend of handling, luxury and ride quality. Introduced in 2004, the E90 was available with a range of engines, drivetrains and body styles.
Introduced in 2007, the coupe body style was differentiated from the sedans by its longer doors, shorter wheelbase, thinner headlight and taillights and two seat rear bench. Despite its sportier design, it still had much of the space and comfort of the sedan. The top end model was the 335i which was available with a 3.0L twin turbocharged inline-6. It was rated at a solid 300hp and 300lb-ft although it is widely acknowledged that the engine is underrated and actually produces much more power.
