For Sale: 1968 Ford Mustang GT R-Code in Volo, Illinois
Holy grail of Mustangs! Ordered new at Tasca Ford- A documented
factory black GT R-code with original ram air 428 Cobra Jet motor,
4-speed and 4.30 traction lok rear. Only 50 miles on total
rotisserie restoration. No rust, all clean metal. The underside is
correctly detailed with primered floors, correctly detailed
suspension and rear end. New gas tank, shocks, brakes, lines and
cables. Rebuilt front end. The body is laser straight with a
reflection you could shave in. All new chrome, trim, rubber, seals
etc. Interior completely restored to new condition. The only
modification made is a retro stereo.
Motor compartment is detailed like new. Trunk compartment restored,
has jack, spare and new mat. This is a highly collectable car and a
significant piece of muscle car history. Itasca Ford was very
involved in Ford racing. They actually designed and built the 428
CJ. It was so successful that Ford literally pulled the motor from
Tasca's car so they could dissect it. Ford put the engine into
production late in 1968 in a limited number of Mustangs. This one
we are offering was sold new by Tasca and was ordered for 1 thing,
to go fast! A 4.30 gear isn't exactly for daily commute.
