For Sale: 1980 Fiat 124 in Mount Gilead, Ohio

Vehicle Description

1980 Fiat 2000 Spider

A gem, Several Fiat specialists know this car and will attest to this car's condition and value.

Many awards including; 1st place Judge’s Choice, Mid –Ohio Vintage Concours  (against all makes) , 2nd place people’s choice Mid-Ohio Vintage Concours (against all makes) , 2nd place Dublin Italian Gathering (against all Italian makes). Other awards.

Darn near everything is new (under 4000 miles or less). Odo reads @ (1)05000. Recent, all suspension components, A-arms, ball joints, tie rods, rear links, rebuilt rear end, new timing belt and idler, water pump, master cylinder and booster, braided steel brake lines, head rebuild, low amp/high torque starter, new column switch, cold start sensor, drive line pillow block, trans mount, u-joint, etc. Upgrades include aftermarket progressive-coil lowered springs, dual piston calipers, top of line “yellow” Koni shocks, dual tip ANSA exhaust, VGC original leather, Chromadora wheels one spare (rare). Well maintained with resolution of the 'gremlins" that catch most buyers out. This car is solid. Runs and drives great, shifts like silk, syncros are fine. "Newer" engine is fine/strong.

Many boxes of good parts - plus spare windshield, front bumper, radiator, 3 rare spare OEM ignition switches, etc. (You cannot find OEM Ignition switches anywhere and the after-market ones are junk). Is about the only item you can't find on the market. Everything else is pretty much available.

Heater core and radio are not connected but could function if desired.  This was an Arizona car prior to my restoration and has only seen rain twice in the 16 years I’ve had it.  To my knowledge, it has never seen salt. Is stored with a vapor barrier in winter but gets started and “run” on the driveway at least once every month in the winter to keep things lubed.

Asking less than some have recommended. I have formal appraisal (in 2012) citing the car at $18,000. You would spend much more to bring any Spider to this level. I’m not saying it’s  perfect or Pebble Beach Concours but it’s damn nice and is a reliable driver. Turns heads and gets comments everywhere.

Investment opportunity, these cars are finally getting the recognition they deserve.

North Central Ohio.
