For Sale: 1970 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 in Lakebay, Washington

Vehicle Description

1970½ CHEVROLET Z28 CAMARO FOR SALE

This is a true Z28 (not a clone), 1 of 8733 Z28s built in 1970 out of a total 112,323 Camaros (only 7.7% of all 1970 Camaros were Z28s).  Car Craft magazine ran a best drag strip quarter mile of 12.93 ET at 108 MPH (stock car with slicks) in their 1970 review.  1970 was the peak year for Z28 horsepower (360HP), increasing from 290HP in 1969 and declining to 330HP in 1971 and 260HP in 1972.

I purchased the car in February 2001 from the previous owner with 98,000 original miles.  The original numbers matching motor was rebuilt with balanced stock rods and crankshaft, Keith Black hypereutectic pistons, 11.2:1 compression, Iskenderian camshaft (525 lift/288 duration, part number 201035, Z-35 grind), Moroso 7-quart oil pan, Crane roller rockers, Comp Cam push-rods, Edelbrock Victor Jr. intake manifold, stock 202 “camelback“ cylinder heads, Crane roller rockers, Comp Cam pushrods. Machine work was performed by Kerslake Brothers of Maple Valley, WA. The original numbers matching motor has been sitting safely on an engine stand for several years after the 383 motor was installed. The original motor was running great when removed and was put on the engine stand to protect the collectability and value of this original Z28.

Four Speed Muncie M21 transmission with Hurst linkage, Lakewood Scatter Shield Bellhousing, custom/heavy duty driveshaft with U-joint girdles, 12-bolt rear end with 3.73 gears (also have 4.10 gears), JEGs Ultimate rear end cover, Centerforce dual-friction clutch, Lakewood Traction Action (plate) traction bars, drive-shaft loop, Competition Engineering frame connectors, Hurst roll-control (line-lock).

New body mount rubber bushing kit, new rear sway bar bushing kit, new heater core and fan motor. Centerline Auto Drag (style 05) racing wheels with new radial tires front and rear, set of four original steel 5-spoke Z28 wheels with trim rings and new BF Goodrich Radial T/As (not currently mounted on car).  Car has correct 8000 RPM tachometer and 150MPH speedometer, Kenwood AM/FM CD player, Sirius ready, 50W x 4, with remote control and Eclipse speakers.

Currently installed engine - (has just over 4000 miles of run time)
