Chevrolet? This 1957 GMC 100, named 'Roxie' by the previous owners,

correct Pontiac 347 V8 still churning out plenty of torque. This
was quite a large engine in 1957, especially when you consider that
Chevrolet's largest V8 available in a 1/2 ton pickup was their new
283. Behind the engine sits one of the most interesting
transmissions around; GM's 4-speed (!) Hydramatic automatic
transmission. GM obtained 4 forward speeds by connecting 2
planetary gear sets with a system of bands and clutches. It would
be more than twenty years before another 4-speed automatic
transmission saw regular production here! Brand-new white vinyl
upholstery covers the original bench seat, which brightens the
interior considerably. This is an unusual yet charming old truck
