Vehicle Description
At first glance, this 1980 Chevrolet Corvette is one of those cool
cars with a great color combo for an affordable price. But as you
dig into all the details, you'll discover a survivor-grade
low-mileage sports car with all the right documentation. So this
attractive classic is also a great buy.
A red Corvette is an all-American hero. So if you're going to drive
a legend, you want it to be well preserved. This factory-correct
shade of code-83 Red looks to be the original color applied over 35
years ago. But good care means it retains a clean and even shine
over the whole design. And appearance is important on these cars.
1980 was the introduction of the new front fascia with even more
body-colored elements. Plus, these had the sporty bodykit that
included the front air dam, fender flairs, and ducktail spoiler.
The dark tinted glass T-tops combine with the dark A-pillars and
side scoops for a bit of a sinister side. While it looks sleek and
modern in its chrome-free body, a proper American muscle machine
never completely skips out on the brightwork. It's just saved for
the 15-inch aluminum wheels.
While the exterior looks great, it's the interior that seals the
deal. The factory-correct Oyster leather is also believed to be
original, and it has a terrific presentation. In fact, there looks
like there has been little seat time to cause creases or wear. So
it's easy to believe it when the consignor says the low mileage
(averaging 860 miles annually) is also true. But, why you really
love this car is because when you take the T-tops out - the
combination of the white leather against the red exterior is a pure
upper-class sports car appearance. And thanks to cold-blowing air
conditioning, you can feel free to show this off all year long. In
fact, more than just look premium, you'll feel just how luxurious a
sports car can be from the moment you slip behind the wheel. It's
loaded with features like power windows, tilt/telescope wheel,
electric rear defogger, and the factory AM/FM/cassette stereo. For
the driver, you get a comfortable leather-wrapped three-spoke
steering wheel. Beyond that is the large speedometer and tachometer
package in front, and a full gauge package prominently to the
side.
Under the hood is the original, numbers-matching 350 cubic-inch V8.
For lovers of originality, this one hits the right notes with
everything from the valve covers to the decals looking correct and
survivor-grade. It's even still topped by the correct big Quadrajet
four-barrel carburetor. This is mated to the correct TH350
three-speed automatic that's always ready to handle the torque the
V8 can throw down. And while this has a ferocious look and a V8
heart, Chevy also built these later C3s to be great cruising cars.
So the fully independent suspension, power steering, cruise
control, and four-wheel disc brakes give you a true grand touring
classic.
Complete with the original window sticker and full owner's manual
packet, you can really see that this is a great surviving Corvette
offered at a very affordable price. This kind of value never stays
available for long. Call now!
