Vehicle Description
Plymouth was brand new in 1928 and built cars to compete in what
was known as the low-priced market that was dominated by Ford and
Chevrolet. However after a few years under their belt, they wanted
to establish their own identity so they decided try and set a cross
country record in a new engine design calling it Floating power and
Free Wheeling. LB Miller left San Francisco and arrived in NY in 65
Hours and 33 minutes and after his one-hour layover returned to San
Francisco in 65 Hours and 24 minutes, shattering the earlier record
9 hours. He averaged 1140 miles a day averaging 47.52 miles per
hour.
This wonderful example we are offering is not only a car you don't
see every day but is in wonderful mechanical condition that can be
toured, paraded or shown. This is one of the easiest starting
vehicles of this era that I have personally been around. It has
plenty of power to travel at speeds of 60MPH all day long. This
Plymouth comes out of a long term ownership/collection that has
been excellently cared for. The paint appears to be from the 70's
and is a hoot to drive.
