For Sale: 1930 Willys-Overland 96A in Kentwood, Michigan
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this highly restored, 1930
Willys-Overland Whippet 96A for your consideration. Capable of
driving a comfortable pace of 50 mph, and getting near 50 mpg, the
Whippet is truly an incredible car. The Whippet was built in
Toledo, Ohio. The car spent most of its life in Minnesota and then
Michigan. 8 years ago it was completely restored, and the process
took 3 years.
Perhaps the most unique thing about the Whippet is the center of
the steering wheel. It is a horn, light switch and starter button
all in one. The 2199cc 4 cylinder side-valve engine fires up and
runs as it should. It features a vacuum fuel system. It features 4
wheel brakes, lots of vintage Willys pictures and documentation,
fender mounted spare, and a large trunk space.
The paint shows very well and the chrome glistens in the sun. It
rides on its wooden spoke wheels that were hand painted, with
whitewall tires. The brown cloth interior is in remarkable shape as
well. It appears that all nuts and bolts were preplaced at the time
of restoration as well as the grease fittings. The black vinyl top
is like new. These cars are few and far between, to find one in
this condition is truly remarkable.
