Vehicle Description
Once in a great while a rare opportunity becomes available. Perhaps
one of the best most stunning 1948 Mercury convertibles in
existence. With only 24 miles since restoration on the clock.
Professionally restored; a very well known expert on Ford and
Mercury flatheads in the country; the "Late, great Lloyd Duzel"
from Arlington Heights, IL. Known to many as "Duze" and mister
Ford. Truly my friend and one of the worlds fasted master craftsmen
and restorer and expert. Lloyd restored many national first prize
winners and this Mercury would live up to the standard. Duze
restored this Mercury body off, frame up from a good original with
copy of the original 1948 purchase order from Morgan Motor Company,
Chicago, IL.; all the specifications. This Mercury was stored in a
heat and humidity controlled environment for over 25 year where it
was meticulously maintained by its present owner; the car out of
its cacoon; appears as it just came from the factory show room or
restoration shop. True evidence of a restoration by a master
craftsman who picked and hand filed. Frame off - body up - complete
engine and chassis re-machined to new. All new brakes, glass, seals
and more. A laser straight body clad in Monsoon maroon exterior
with all show quality bright work. Interior is correct double
stitch leather with red and gray inset panels. All new carpet along
with tan harts cloth top that has boot and performs perfect. All
gauges and instruments including radio checked and rebuilt to
specs. Truly a piece of rolling Mercury sculpture. For the
connoisseur who wants one of the finest in the world; this is it.
Duze lives on with this work of art available for the first time,
since restoration 25 years ago. Youtube video available upon
