Vehicle Description
We know the slick black presentation of this restored 1967
Chevrolet Chevelle SS instantly caught your eye (and it does
exactly that for others, too.) But as you dig into the details and
discover the all the new components - from the four-speed stick to
the monster 500hp big block - you'll soon realize that the new
midnight hero is up for grabs.
If you don't like attention, then don't buy this car. That's
because most of us can't resist a shiny black Chevelle - especially
with chrome in all the right places like the vented hood, extra
wide bumpers, and the trim that outlines every inch of glass.
Everything else is covered in an intimidating darkness that
highlights the super straight body. This is a real-deal code-38
SS396 coupe, and so there has been a serious restoration investment
in everything that you see to make sure this is pure intimidation
on wheels. But just in case some people were not taking notice to
the midnight hero attitude, there are hints on every side of the
car with special SS 396 badging on the chrome grille and dark rear
panel, as well as the bold "Super Sport" script on each rear
fender. And of course, no aggressive Chevy is complete without the
cool Rally wheel package.
The interior is just as imposing as the exterior. The deep black on
the seats, doors, headliner, and dash are all products of a good
restoration. And at this level of investment, we all love the feel
of the factory pattern and bright accents. The view from the
driver's seat is amazing. You get a three-spoke SS sports steering
wheel for the power steering. Its bright presentation continues on
the factory dash that includes 60s-cool items like the extra wide
speedometer and heat/defrost controls. You can tell no expense was
spared in here because pretty much no detail was missed. But more
than just look great, we know you're going to love grabbing onto
the cue ball shifter and watching the upgraded tach dance as you
drop that accelerator pedal.
Lift the hood and see the best upgrade of them all. The tidy
presentation and bright valve covers will certainly attract a
crowd. But while the badges say this is a 396, that's a bit of a
fib... because this one has a massive 496 big block stroker motor
under the hood. This huge displacement V8 includes all the best
upgrades for speed and fortification, including Icon forged
aluminum pistons, Eagle forged steel H-beam rods, ARP bolts,
Clevite bearings, aluminum Pro-Comp heads, Ferrea valvetrain
internals, Chevy Performance long slot rocker arms (1.7 ratio), and
a Comp-Cams hydraulic roller camshaft. This custom V8 inhales
deeply with a Holley 770 Street Dominator four-barrel carburetor,
and it exhales with authority out of Hedman long tube headers that
feed the thundering dual exhaust. The total package is rated around
500 horsepower. And if you're going to build something as wicked as
this, you need the full control that comes from the new Muncie M20
four-speed manual transmission. Making sure all this power gets to
the ground is a 12-bolt rear end that has a 3.08 ratio and
Positraction.
We didn't even have enough room to go through all the new
components. But give us a call, and we'll go over all the details
and receipts on the wickedest Chevelle around. Then again, with so
much appeal to a turn-key mean muscle machine, you might want to
also call to make sure it's still here. Call now!
