GR Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this low mile, well preserved, 1980 Mazda RX-7. When introduced for model year 1979, the RX7 was an instant success among motoring and driving enthusiasts. The Wankel designed, two-rotor, rotary engine has high rpm capabilities producing more torque than horsepower. This, with its light weight design, 50/50 weight distribution and live rear axle, proved to be a spirited performer on and off the track. The high torque curve meant fast exits from corner apexes and the proven MacPherson struts and coil springs up front kept everything pointed in the right direction. The RX-7's design was fresh compared to the aging looks of its competition, and Car and Driver magazine made it one of its top picks for 1980.
The 1980 Mazda RX-7 offered here is a wonderfully preserved example sold new at Marty R's Mazda of Garland Texas. The car remains completely original with the exception of one quality repaint in its original Solar Gold Metallic paint over Seattle Brown Vinyl interior.
