I bought this truck 25 years ago. Shortly after buying it I had a shop cut the frame and add a Camaro sub frame. We built a 350 small block engine, added a 350 turbo transmission and the Camaro rear end. It has front disc brakes, and power steering. We also redid the interior replacing all of the electrical, adding autometer gauges a B&M shifter and other things. After getting married 17 years ago I parked it in my garage until eight years ago when I took it to a shop to get it back up and running. After spending $5,000 the shop went out of business leaving me without an operating vehicle and a $5,000 lighter wallet. Before they started to take the truck apart they did get it up and running. Then they removed the old exhaust system, started rewiring the truck, purchased new headers and a new carburetor and ignition system. Since bringing it home from the shop it has been in my garage until my son and I started removing paint a couple years ago with the intent to getting it back into working condition.
As we were working on it a couple months ago I decided to embrace the reality that I'm probably not the right man for this project. The body needs some work but isn't rusted out. I hope someone with some talent and more patience than me will enjoy it as much as I did when I was younger.
