Vehicle Description
The Chevelle was a mid-size model that was produced over a few
generations starting in 1964. The second generation is arguably the
most popular and featured a distinctly sculpted "coke bottle" body
with tapered fenders and a rear quarter kick up. A variety of
engines were on offer but the most potent and powerful being the
454cid V8 in the SS. The 1970 model year SS came only with the RPO
Z15 equipment option. With up to 450hp in solid-lifter,
high-compression guise, the SS was one of the most powerful factory
muscle cars of all time.
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present one of the nicest examples we
have ever seen. It features a frame off rotisserie restoration and
nearly every part has been upgraded or replaced. There are new
exhaust, brakes, fuel tank, lines, suspension hardware, wiring, and
power features. The exterior is finished in a stunning shade of
Cortez Silver with dual black racing stripes and is flawless. It
shines very well and we see no chips or marks of any kind. The
interior looks like it just left the factory with perfect seats,
dash and trim. The dashboard has zero cracks or marks with the only
thing being an ashtray that doesn't stay locked. The
instrumentation and controls are in perfect working order and the
car has power brakes and power steering. The seats show no wear and
the headliner looks great. The glass is in great shape as is all of
the rubber seals.
The 454cid LS6 engine starts up without hesitation and sounds very
good through dual exhaust. The engine was rebuilt and has a E677
casting code. It also has a Holley single barrel carb and a rebuilt
TH400 automatic transmission. The car also has the Cowl Induction
hood and a 3.73 Posi Trac rear end. It pulls smooth and strong to
redline and the transmission shifts in and out of and between gears
with no issues. It goes down the road with purpose and the power
brakes are strong. Teh 275R15 tires have tons of life and are
mounted on original SS wheels. Definitely a head turner, this
Chevelle is a pristine example from the muscle car hayday. Now is
