There are customs, and then there are customs—ones that have that “wow” factor—a seamless blend of Detroit engineering and unbridled creativity and imagination. One such custom that strikes the perfect balance is this stunning 1964 Buick Wildcat.
Talk about eye appeal! Finished in Prowler Orange and Ferrari Silver, this Wildcat’s finish has a mirror-like finish. Its two-tone finish is neatly separated by orange hand-painted pinstriping. You’ll also appreciate its silver ghost flames emanating from the custom front fender vents, which beautifully echo the color of the top half of the car. Rear fender side ported dual exhaust coves also add a unique touch, as does its 1964 Thunderbird hood scoop—a feature so perfect on this car that it looks like it could have come from the factory. Shaved door handles and 17” Verde Nasa chrome wheels complete the look. All of the chrome and brightwork on this car is in excellent condition.
The new interior of this Wildcat is equally impressive, featuring bucket seats in Beige vinyl and a sporty center console. The seating areas, dashboard, carpeting, interior door panels and headliner are all in excellent condition. The upgraded Pioneer Premier AM/FM/CD player is neatly mounted in the glove box, preserving the stock appearance of the car’s interior. You’ll also appreciate this car’s power antenna and optional factory climate control and trunk release, as well as its remote-controlled doors.
Under the hood you will find a completely rebuilt 401 CID Nailhead V-8 mated to a rebuilt automatic transmission. Generating an impressive 325 horsepower and of 445 lb-ft of torque, this cat is no slouch on the road! But no worries, its power brakes and power steering will keep you firmly in control on those twisty two lanes. Its 2.5” aluminized dual exhaust will reward you with a satisfying rumble—not too loud, but just right. Having under 4,000 miles since built, this Wildcat runs and drives as well as it looks.
Previously a western-US car, its rust-free body was stripped down prior to the car’s complete professional restoration. In addition to cosmetics, any mechanical needs were also professionally addressed, including the complete powertrain and front and rear suspension. A multiple award winner, this well cared for Wildcat has been enjoyed by its current owners since 2002.
One item of note is that the air conditioning system needs to be charged. In addition, minor imperfections in the finish do not detract from the overall appearance of this car. A car cover will be included with sale.
If an eye-popping mid-60s custom that is ready to go is what you desire, this 1964 Wildcat is the car for you!
