For Sale at Auction: 1954 Ford Crestline in Carlisle, Pennsylvania

Vehicle Description

his Crestline Victoria "Barn Find" of Killarney Green over Sandstone White sports its original, unaltered, very smooth 239 C.I.D. overhead valve V8, thus ending the Ford Flathead era of 1932-1953.  It has never left family ownership since Grandma Stewart bought it off the potted palm showroom of the Lewistown, Pennsylvania, Ford dealership in July of 1954.

The Vicky has run just under 34K original miles!  Hazel Stewart of McVeytown, Mifflin County, was very particular and rarely permitted anyone else to drive her.  We know the car made one round trip to Sarasota, Florida in the middle 50's.  The car has never been in an accident nor had body work.  Mrs. Stewart ceased driving around 1972 and placed it under cover in her barn.  The mileage at that time was 26,690.  In 1979 granddaughter Cathie Jo and husband Bill Jenkins bought and brought it to Carlisle.

A NOS gas tank was bought from the late Pat Day of North Carolina. Additionally, the carburetor and fuel pump were replaced or rebuilt.  The brake system, including the master cylinder, was gone over and then converted to DOT 5 fluid supplied by Studebaker in South Bend.  The generator and starter were rebuilt as a cautionary measure by Glen Wetzel and Don Smee of Carlisle.  The OEM 3" white wall Firestones have been replaced with exact replacements.  Numerous trim, ignition, and hard parts are included in the trunk.

The Victoria also comes with the master service manual, including the separate 1954 supplement.  Current parts and trim catalogs/service bulletins are also included.  Specific and separate Ford mechanic service booklets on 1954 engines, car front suspensions, four modern engine systems, the Ford appearance reconditioning manual, and the official owner's accessories booklet are also with the car.

This Victoria was measured and photographed in Mifflin County recently by a professional restorer for a project there and has also been in numerous local, state, and military-sponsored car shows.
