1966 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe Vette-Vues Magazine “Project II“ Car “Turquoise Metallic “, 25,200 miles. This historically significant 1966 Corvette was totally re-done in 1992 for Vette-Vues Magazine and is among the world's first resto-mods and certainly the first Corvette resto-mod. The numbers matching motor was updated with components from the 1991 Corvette line along with a number of custom parts, all documented in 6 separate issues of the magazine in 1992 (February-August). It has power steering, power brakes, air conditioning and 6-way power seats. Matching original 1966 seats are also included.
After restoration and modding, the car then toured the country for approximately two years, appearing at many events, including the ground breaking of the Corvette museum and for the 1,000,000th Corvette coming off the assembly line. It was driven and signed by the legendary Corvette designer, Larry Shinoda, and still bears his signature. The background information on this car is immense and it is all included, original copies of all the magazines it appeared in, copies of invoices and original pictures.
