In 1936, 1937, 1938 and 1939 Pontiac gained added distinction with its "Silver Streak" trim. The Silver Streak trim was a bright metal band running forward from the cowl, over the hood and down the front of the radiator. The Silver Streak made Pontiac cars unmistakable and would continue doing just that for the next 20 years.
Our 1939 is finished in maple leaf green and the interior is brown and tan cloth seats and trim. The Silver Streak has clearly been restored within the last decade. The finish of this Pontiac will catch the eye of everyone that sees it. The paint and finish has been very well done and all the panels and gaps are correct. Slide into the driver’s seat and you feel like you have truly stepped back in time. The interior has been restored to all the original appearance with the correct trim colors and seats. The carpet, seats and door panels show little if any wear. There aren’t any rips or worn spots in the upholstery or carpets.
Lift the hood and the engine bay shows the care and maintenance that this Silver Streak has had. When you turn the key, and start the flathead 6 cylinder you will see it runs smoothly. Put it in gear and drive off in comfort to your next car show or just for a Sunday drive. An attractive art deco style sedan undoubtedly would be welcome at any classic car show.
