For Sale: 1966 Dodge Coronet 440 in Maria Stein, Ohio

Vehicle Description

Hello. I have my 1966 Coronet 440 Convertible, that I have owned for the last 32 years for sale. This car was sold new at Dynamic Dodge to John W DeFrehn of New Smyrna Beach, FL on April 12th 1966. It stayed in Florida until February 10th 1980 when Jim Fraley of Xenia, Ohio bought it. Jim bought and sold cars back then, so he brought the car back to Ohio to sell it. It was sold April 8th 1980 to Tom Huelsman of Chickasaw Ohio, who is a friend of mine. I bought the car from him on October 23, 1985. The car was in great shape at the time, so nothing was done to the car until 2001.

At that time, the car was repainted. I kept it the original color, which is code 661, Mauve Metallic, and it still looks like it was painted yesterday. The seat covers and carpet were done with Legendary Interiors. All the door panels and dash are original. All the seals were replaced on the doors, trunk, and top etc…

The original wide block 318 was replaced with a 1971 360, that came out of a New Yorker. Huelsman Automotive of Chickasaw, Ohio did the complete rebuild of the motor, transmission, power steering pump and alternator. The motor is .30 over with 10-1 flat top pistons, J heads have 3 angle valve job with hardened exhaust seats. It has a 68 340 cam, intake and manifolds with a Carter 625 AFB. It has Mopar Performance Electronic Ignition. The radiator is a rebuilt 3 core. The brakes were completely done with a dual master cylinder and silicone brake fluid added. It has a 727 transmission with a 8 ¾ 742 3.23 sure grip rear end. I have put less than 5000 miles on it, since this was all done. I have all of the receipts for everything that I have had done to this car. This car is a real strong runner, a lot of people think it is a Big Block, until I open the hood.

In 2009, I decided to replace the original top, which still looked good, but the threads were starting to let loose. The top, back window, well liner, pads were replaced with Legendary. It still has the original boot that still looks great.

This car has all of its original metal, as you can see from the pictures of the trunk, and the rear floor it is as solid as they come. I did not do anything to the inside of the trunk, since it was still original and the spatter paint still looks good.

I am selling the car because I have to many toys. My dad passed away in 2012, and I inherited his 1969 Dart GT B5 Blue with white top. I can’t sell that one, so my Coronet has to go. Also, with two kids in college and the youngest starting to drive, something has to give. I am sure a lot of you understand that. So, it is time for someone to enjoy this car, like I have over the years. For more info just contact me. Thanks Scott.
