Are you into nostalgia? Of course you are, all of us in this
hobby are. Street machines, whether a factory muscle car, a
Hot-Rod, even a Pro-street or a Pro-touring style all garner
their roots from racing. It's that simple. Big engines, small
engines, 4 speeds, stripes, graphics, wheels, gauges, just about
everything into a classic car on some level can conjure up
memories, flashbacks, and conversations about racing.
Bonneville, Lemans, Trans am, and the Dragstrip are all favorites
of the collector car enthusiast. The focus of this particular style
of car sits exclusively on the latter...The Dragstrip!
The point of the nose-in-the-air front end was to hopefully shift
weight from the otherwise heavy front end to the furthermost point
back in order to gain traction. This style had all but faded from
the drags by 1974, replaced by the “Funny car”.
Today, excitement abounds when we see a thumping engined, straight
axle, mean looking Gasser stomping through the cars shows or
lurking down the boulevard looking for trouble.
This Chevy II is one of the cleanest, nicest, and fun driving
Gassers I've ever driven or been in. The paint is crisp, the
interior is comfortable and old school. The well built lopey
cammed, tunnel ram dual quad 383 crate engine fires right up
whether hot or cold, and doesn’t miss a beat. This Nova drives nice
and true down the road too, and the front disc brakes work great,
all of the gauges work, all of the lights work, and that 60's
period Hurst Ram-Rod shifter is an absolute kick to use.
Everywhere you look on this little Chevy you'll find a clean, rust
free, and tight machine. Quality components were used throughout
the build, which by the way has 1,802 miles on it.
If you're considering a well built, never raced, excellent running
and driving Hot-Rod that you can enjoy driving on the street, or
maybe take to the drag-strip for nostalgia, this is about as well
rounded of a Hot-Rod you're gonna find...Period!
