1G3BY37Y8FY304234 The stunning 1987 Blackhawk 2-Door Hardtop Coupe
being offered at this year's auction is the last Blackhawk ever
made. The prestigious vehicle is still owned by Stutz Motor Car of
America. It has only 1800 original miles. The first Stutz Blackhawk
available for consumer purchase was purchased by Elvis Presley in
1971. The winner of the auction will be its very first registered
owner. Only 600 Blackhawks were ever made with the last being in
1987. The cost of the 1971 Stutz Blackhawk, depending upon the
model, ranged between $75,000 and $145,000 (2017) dollars. By 1987
the cars were selling for an approximate $225,000 (2017) dollars.
As with all Stutz vehicles, the Blackhawk is basically hand-built
(1500 man-hours) in Italy and meticulously painted with 22 coats of
hand-rubbed lacquer (a six-week process). The interior of the
Blackhawk is outfitted with 24-carat gold plated trim, a polished
Bird's Eye Maple dash, luxurious Connolly Leather seats, instrument
markings in both English and Italian, and fine wool carpeting.
