Vintage Motorcars is proud to present this 1979 Chevrolet Camaro
Z/28.
The official badge morphed into "Z28" during the '70s, a decade
that Chevrolet kicked off with a beautiful new Camaro body and a
new engine for its rip-snortin' pony car. Standard behind the 1970
Z28s pointed prow was the Corvette's 350-cid LT-1 V-8, rated at 360
horsepower. Between fiberglass flanks in 1970, this screaming
small-block was advertised at 370 horses. Output dropped steadily
from there, and in 1973 civilized hydraulic lifters replaced the
solid tappets heard beneath the hoods of all previous Z's. A
further decline led to the car's temporary cancellation after 1974,
but it returned triumphantly in 1977 as an individual model instead
of an options package.
Another Camaro facelift, along with new aluminum wheels, greeted
Z28 customers in 1978, a front air dam and fender louvers were
added in 1979.
This 1979 Z/28 Camaro has a newer, color correct paint job. The
original white and blue of this car looks very clean and fresh.
The interior has also been restored to the original blue vinyl and
still looks brand new aside from one small scuff on the left side
of the dash which can be seen in pictures.
Original 4 speed 1979 Z28 Camaro's with factory a/c can be hard to
find, but this car has it. This car also has its original 373 posi
rear end. This car is ready to drive and you will not find any
surprises other than a great ride.
Included with this car is a great deal of documentation which
include the original Customer Order Form, 1979 Camaro Ad, Owner's
Manual, and some recent service records.
