Vehicle Description
We're pleased to offer this classic 1957 MGA just in time for your
summer driving enjoyment. It's a lovely car with very few flaws and
it drives as well as it looks. This car was part of collection we
purchased from an estate and has been the subject of
recommissioning work so that it is now ready for reliable use.
Mechanically, the engine runs very well with good oil pressure and
no smoke or overheating. It's also surprisingly dry underneath in
terms of oil leaking which is not to say perfect but pretty much an
exception as old British cars go. The exhaust system is very good
and steering and suspension all in good order. Recent work includes
all new brake and clutch hydraulics including master and slave
cylinders and all wheel cylinders. The brake work also included new
brake shoes and new rubber brake and clutch hoses. It starts easily
and drives nicely. It tracks straight and the transmission is
smooth with good synchromesh and no gear whine. When this car was
restored, the interior was clearly well done to a high standard,
particularly the leather seats which along with the carpets are
still in great shape. It has the correct spare tire boot that
protrudes from the trunk into the rear of the area behind the
seats. It has the correct vinyl partition with storage pockets that
hangs from the back of the rear cowl behind the seats. The canvas
top is in good condition (but could use some cleaning) with clear
windows and there's a virtually new condition tonneau cover.
Overall, the interior is probably as nice as you'll find on an MGA.
All of the chrome and brightwork is very nice and the windshield is
free of nicks or wiper scratching. The car has new paint in MG
Orient Red and presents very well. The car is ready to drive and
enjoy and we believe priced very reasonably considering its overall
condition. We can assist the purchaser with shipping anywhere in
the U.S. or Europe.
