Vehicle Description
Vehicle to be offered for Auction sale August 17th - 19th, 2017 at
Russo and Steele's 17th Annual Monterey, California Auction. Please
contact us for more information. Car was one of the first 20 cars
supplied by Ford from the first 150 cars built and stored in a
secret warehouse in Toronto. Ford had a lottery for Dealers of 20
of the first cars to be sold at $75,000 above MSRP about 6 months
before others were supplied. This car is No. 119 chosen from the
cars as it was Red with a White Stripe and had all the extras
available. As one of the first 20 cars it had a large Canvas Oil
Painting of the Ford GT painted by the Designer, also a collection
of auto magazines from 2004 all with front cover or full inside
coverage of the Ford GT in Red with a White Stripe. Also included
special Ford books and a set of Commemorative Ford GT gauges which
are still in boxes. The 2005 Ford GT was built by Ford in
Commemoration of the 1966 Ford GT40 when they came in the first 3
positions at the 24-Hour Le Mans Race in France ahead of the
Ferraris. The car went to many shows of the new Ford GT over the
first six months at a time when even Dealers had not seen them. The
car has been part of a collection of cars and regularly driven and
serviced which keeps the car in excellent condition. It has not
been raced and maintained as part of a Collection of 24-Hour Le
mans history.
