For Sale: 1968 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 in Charlotte, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

What makes the Z/28 very special is the limited-production, high-performance drive train that is unique to only this car. Everything from the 302-cubic inch high compression engine down to the deep pulley alternator (made to properly operate at 7000+ RPMs) was designed to make the Z/28 one of the most potent small block production muscle cars ever made. This numbers matching Camaro is one of the very few 7,199 total Z/28s' produced in 1968 and was built at the Los Angeles (Van Nuys), CA plant, assembled in late May. Fast forward to 2017 and the Z/28 is still powered by its original, numbers matching 302ci solid-lifter V8. The Camaro is unrestored with 44,017 original miles and possesses an actual-mileage title. Certified by renowned Camaro expert, Jerry MacNeish, this Z/28 has been authenticated that the engine and rear axle are the original units installed at the Chevrolet factory. The M-20 Muncie manual transmission is a replacement component. Mr. MacNeish stated in his report that Original Z/28s' are very hard to find in today's Camaro collector world, further enhancing this example's significance. General Motors and Chevrolet conservatively rated these engines at 290 horsepower, however the performance lends to a higher output number. It has one older exterior only lacquer repaint in the correct super-rare color of Corvette Bronze. The door jambs and underside of the trunk lid are factory paint. The Z/28 is nicely equipped with Hurst shifter, 12-bolt posi-traction rear end with 4:10 gears, power steering, power brakes, center console with gauges and much more. This is a highly-optioned Z/28 that is unrestored with low mileage and its original engine. Don't miss your opportunity to own one of the most sought after muscle cars of the 1960s'!
