Vehicle Description
For sale in our Detroit showroom is a 1988 Cadillac Allante
Pininfarina Convertible! This Cadillac still smells new inside! The
Allante debuted in 1986 and was a big hit. Italian design firm
Pininfarina, whom also designed Ferrari's, designed this gorgeous
two door performance/luxury car for GM. They were shipped 4,600 mi
from Italy in specially equipped Boeing 747s, 56 at a time, to
Cadillac's Detroit/Hamtramck Assembly plant down the street where
they were mated with domestically manufactured chassis and engine
assemblies. Quite the long travel but once you've driven one, you
quickly understand why the extra expense was taken. Under the hood
is a 4.1L engine backed by a super smooth shifting automatic
transmission. The 4.1L engine has 8 cylinders and offers 170
horsepower and 235 lb ft of torque propelling this Caddy to 60
miles per hour in about 8 seconds. New in 1988 this car cost
roughly $55,000 and driving one of these was a statement! In
today's money that's 98,000 dollars; no wonder why these Allante's
are so collectible. The exterior of the Caddy is dressed in Red and
looks wonderful with the stylish body lines and red taillights. The
interior looks great as well and offers tan leather that looks near
new and an interior that is completely lenient towards its
originality . Options include: AC, AM/FM/Cassette, manual
convertible top, hard top, cruise control, power brakes, power
steering, power locks, power seats, power windows, anti-lock
brakes, tilt wheel, anti-theft system, leather interior, and
aluminum/alloy wheels. If you are in the market for a fun
convertible to cruise that has style and offers something outside
of the new car market, here is a great choice. This Allante can be
used as an investment piece as well. Call us at 313-982-3100 to
